Diploma in Music and Audio Technology

Biography
After being brought up by musicians and learning music all her life, Adelynne decided that she would continue to do music for the rest of her life even though she had her moments of wanting to drop the subject completely.

She was desperate to leave the classical music scene and discover more about music outside of the small rigid bubble she was raised in. Looking at this course she felt like this was the best fit for her, 3 years to completely concentrate on music and figure out what her strengths and weaknesses are.

During her course of study she discovered a skill in song writing but also a passion in sound design and music scoring. Realising this potential in her really encouraged her to dapple in more than one aspect of music and understand that her skills don’t have to be limited to just one thing.

She was lucky to get an internship with IMBA interactive. Being an avid gamer, to work for a game sound design company was the best internship Adelynne could ever get. Getting the opportunity to be featured in one of the biggest locally developed games, Masquerada, was beyond what she expected for her short internship.

Strengths/ Interests
Adelynne believes she is good at solving problems fast as she is quick on her feet. Aside from her inability to solve huge technical issues, she is able to lead a group and guide them through productions.

She’s largely interested in games and films and aims to work more on games and film sound design. Prior to her involvement in Masquerada, she was also involved in sound design for several student made short films in school. All these projects have fuelled her passion for this kind of collaborative work.

ABRSM Grade 5 Certification in Piano
ABRSM Grade 6 Certification in Music Theory

Biography
Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.

In the past, Justin used to despise music and never understood how music was actually a form of worship to Jesus despite being a Christian. However, in the year 2010, he started picking up the drums in church, and it eventually changed his perspective on music. He then acquired passion for music through his drum lessons, and decided to become a sound engineer in his church when he was 15.

Justin was also active in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in secondary school, which taught him to think ahead. This eventually led him to research about the courses available in the Singapore polytechnics while planning for his education. By the end of 2011, he had set his sights on the Diploma in Music and Audio Technology (DMAT) in Singapore Polytechnic (SP). Then, as a secondary 5 student, Justin applied for Direct Polytechnic Admission into DMAT and was successfully accepted in the course.

During his second year in the course, Justin realised that he also has his heart set for song writing and production. He wanted to produce his own Christian songs for his church, and for other Christians to worship God. Through the 3 years in the course, he has written and produced 3 Christian songs.

In addition, through the course, Justin and a group of like-minded classmates discovered their mutual interest in production, and decided to come together as a company named Cornerstone Productions to produce songs for their other classmates in the DMAT course.

Strengths/ Interests
Justin has a sensitive and analytic listening ability which helps him mix and master his works well in the studio. He is also able to record a wide variety of instruments and is well-equipped with biblical knowledge for his Christian songwriting. Apart from these production skills, he is also a versatile drummer who is able to play a wide variety of genres. Justin is also a natural leader due to his experience in the NCC.

Aside from the above, Justin also has interests in sports, as evidenced by his membership in the SP Canoe Polo Team and representation of his school in 2 competitions, photography, the Singapore Armed Forces, and learning new instruments. He is currently learning how to play the bass.

Justin is also a Cadet 2nd Lieutenant in the NCC. In his 8 years of service in NCC, he has achieved the Precision Drill Squad (PDS) Auxiliary Instructor and Advanced Drill Course titles, and has also led his secondary school unit to championship for the national PDS competition.
