Background:
The background of this project is to provide a solution that ActionX’s customers can use to be Engage, Involve and Participate. Also, a solution that uses technology to gamify it, so as to make it suitable during any point of time for the event.

Description:
A gamified zombie themed fitness attaining chasing application. With the aim of engaging people anywhere and at any point of time, ZHASE allow users to be match within their own vicinity and be allocated with the identity of either Survivor or Zombie. This will not only enable player to socialize and meet new friends, but also to let them feel the adrenaline of either chasing or being chased by someone.

Potential Opportunities:
Since ZHASE is currently in version 1.0, thus, there are many potential opportunities to it.Since we are leveraging on a catching concept and along with the Google Map implementation, different gameplay rules and style and be easily brought into ZHASE, allowing different type of game mode that a player can select.Furthermore this concept is scalable and flexible not only to “Zombie” theme, it can be brought over to other “run” concept that ActionX have in future.

Background:
Volunteering Hearts have all experienced volunteering for different events and most of the time we see a lack of volunteers for some events. We wanted to do something that could perhaps help more people to volunteer.

As we did our research, we found out similar solutions out there but they were either only pertaining to one type of events or they only redirected you to other sites. Which to users could be a hassle. So we approached National Youth Council and they have given us their full support with the project and this was how Volunteering Hearts became a project.

Description:
Volunteering Hearts is a mobile platform that bridges the gap between volunteers and organisation. Making it easier for people to sign up and becoming an easy avenue for organisations to market their event. In hopes that we can have more people volunteering in Singapore.

Potential Opportunities:
Through this platform we can encourage more people to become volunteers and Organisations can have much better outreach. This application can start in Singapore and grow for other countries. This is a very big opportunity for other countries to encourage volunteering and giving back to society.

Background:
SingHealth Residency currently uses a paper and pen method to carry out resident evaluations during the programs. However, several problems arise such as data inconsistency, therefore we have created a mobile application that allows SingHealth Residency’s faculties to carry out evaluations on the fly with SHRE.

Description:
SHRE would consist of a web application and a mobile application. The web application would allow Administrators, and Faculties to create Evaluation forms meant for each departments’ residents. This comprehensive and user friendly application makes resident evaluation simpler for hospitals.

Potential Opportunities:
Quicker and simpler evaluation of the resident, making resident assessment efficient and flawless with the usage of technology such as using web and mobile applications.

Background:
SingHealth’s current evaluation process requires internet access for the faculties (senior doctors) to be able to retrieve and upload the forms for evaluation of the residents (trainee doctors). As of date, faculties are only able to do this after the surgery as surgical rooms do not have any internet access, which is essential for retrieving and submitting of the evaluation forms to the server.

Description:
Our project is to enhance the evaluation process, we have devised a website form builder for administrators to create, delete and manage evaluation forms. These forms are stored in the server where it is maintained by the administrators and is kept up to date. In addition to the form builder, administrators are also able to handle faculties and residents. And only the super-administrator is able to handle other administrators.

A mobile application was built as a friendly way for the faculties to do the evaluation process on the spot and continue it at a later time without much hassle. Faculties would be able to retrieve from the server, save the evaluated forms in the application offline and upload it to the web server when there is internet access.

Potential Opportunities:
We could gain opportunities such as working with clients and applying what we have learnt through our modules. By working with client, we get to improve our presentation and communication skills for business. We are able to gain opportunities in learning various codes which are not taught in lessons and gain more knowledge. We also get the opportunity to learn new software such as Phonegap. This opportunity allows us to think innovatively and think out of the box.

Background:
Quest is FYP project under entrepreneurship. A team of 5 students set out to understand the problems faced by tertiary students when they seek for academic help. Since tertiary students are studying in specialised courses, it is very difficult for them to seek quality help for so many specialised modules in their limited circle of social network.

Description:
Quest is a Q&A mobile application that connects all the tertiary students in Singapore ranging from University students from both local and private schools to Polytechnics and ITE institutes, on one single interactive platform. It encourages information sharing through a gamified system that focuses on using avatars that represent each campus individual.

Whether you’re a student looking to ask questions about school assignments, polytechnic or university modules, and career advices or simply looking to connect to brainy peers on our platform, this mobile application is the perfect platform!

Potential Opportunities:
Potential opportunities include adding leader boad and Google Cloud Messaging features for the development of the mobile application. Additionally, we can change our Backend from MySQL to Parse.

As for marketing, social media marketing can be enhanced to raise the brand awareness of Quest, then build a small user base and expand it. As more and more users come on board, we see a potential to compile the questions asked and use it for data analytic in the future.

Background:
DMIT Equipment Loan System (DELS) was developed to help students and staff request to loan equipment from school. From making of loan requests to checking of loans and approving loan requests are all done online at http://dels.sp.edu.sg/ where the comtech at the IRC are in charge of keeping track and maintaining the system.

Description:
DELS Mobile Application focuses on utilising mobile devices to provide a more effective and convenient way for users to make loan requests.

Potential Opportunities:
New features can be implemented into the system as time passes to create a more efficient system to cater to the needs of users.

Technology Used:
In our project, we are using a variety of software to develop the web application. For development, we used NetBeans to code the functions of the application as well as to test it out before we implement it into the CPanel Server. We are also using a MySQL Database to store data that our app will require.

In our code, we are using Bootstrap to give our application a better layout and design and we also use Javascript to add on functions to the application.

For designing the application, Adobe Photoshop as well as Adobe Illustrator were used in creating the original layout of the application as well as the logo of our application and user guide.

Background:
Initially the Jurong Police needed assistance with coming up with an app that could replace the functions of a physical shrill alarm.

The functions of the shrill alarm would include:

An Interface that has a shrill alarm function that is activated when user shakes or drop the phone, a Function that shows your current location and a button to immediately call 999.

A quick Record Button will also be included and will allow for the user to have an option to do a video recording quickly. With the option to do a quick record, it may assist in investigation and thus increase the chances of culprits being arrested from an additional description included in the report when the video is captured.

It will also consist of additional useful features such as locating the Nearest Police Station, locating the nearest police post, safety tips to inform the user of what to do when the incident just happened, a notification list that will send an alert SMS to the preset Next of Kin, a help page that will show the user how to use the application as well as a number for the police hotline.

The app will use the current location to send a request to the police in the vicinity, and only the receiver of the request will be able to see the location of the requestor in real time, which will also allow them to respond to the user directly.

In principle, the app will function similarly to Grab Taxi.

However, due to limitations of a web mobile application, we are unable to implement most of the functions requested by the Jurong Police. Specifically, the video recording function as well as a call to police function as they send the report.

Thus we counter proposed to the police that we would instead build a post-response application, called the JusticeApp. The JusticeApp is a community-based app that allows for users to know of the incidents that happen around their neighbourhood.

Description:
Our Application will be post-response emergency application, where the user of our Application will be able to make a report which will detail their current location, and type of incident that happened to them as well as date and time of the occurance. They will also be able to add a description to the incident to further alert users of the recent incident that they had just witnessed or was a part of.

Our Application will have a heat map where what types of crimes happen at which area of Singapore more frequently so Justice App user will be able to be cautious of the crimes they may fall victim to at specific area so that they can better prevent criminals from committing their acts.

In addition, other users of the app will be able to view the other crimes that have occurred within the area and choose to help the victims out. This will also encourage people within the neighbourhood not just to be more cautious of their surroundings, but also aware of the situation around them so that they may be able to help at any given time.

Potential Opportunities:
Some of the potential opportunities of the application will be that users are able to respond to victims of different incidents and that this will help build strong ties between the community. This will encourage the community to be not only vigilant in helping others but also to keep the community safe.

Other opportunities include the app being able to help the police in handling crimes in areas. It will give them information on areas that have the most crimes as well as the most types of crimes committed within Singapore. The greatest benefit would be that with the help of this application, we would be able to strengthen ties between the community and police as when responding to the incidents, the police will be able to thus easily work with the community to keep the neighbourhood safe.

Background:
The web version of DELS is up and running. Desktop users can see the website in the size that was rendered for computers. Mobile users, on the other hand, will see a shrunken version instead. They will still see the entire website; but it will be shrunken to fit the screen. This will require users to zoom in if they want to view something more clearly. If we recreate the website into a size fit for mobile, such as a mobile app, users may not need to zoom, yet still able to view the same information. Apart from solving this size issues, a mobile app may allow users to personalize their experience. Other than quicker, “on-demand” access and viewing of their loan requests, users may also want to be notified on their mobile devices when a loan request is approved or rejected.

Description:
DMIT Equipment Loan System Mobile Application is a mobile version of the DELS website designed to bring convenience to the users. It consists of all the necessary features a user can perform on the web version, such as submitting a Loan Request, Request for Collection and Renewing of Loan with user-friendly UI. The main aim of the application is to allow faster access into DELS and thus providing convenience. The application is developed in Visual Studio 2015 with the Cordova framework to allow cross-platform development.

Potential Opportunities:
Allowing SP students and staffs to request for loans easily from their mobile phones and manage their loan entries conveniently.

Background:
Our project team consists of 5 students in Business Information Technology in Singapore Polytechnic. We have been assist to Singapore Police Force, specifically to Jurong West NPC, to develop a mobile application to solve the problem of Singapore Police Force spending SGD$70 000 on 20 000 shrill alarms annually.
As for our Final Year Project we have decided to work with Singapore Police Force to develop a mobile application called Call Police which will help both the general public of Singapore and Singapore Police Force in emergency situations.
With our previous 2 years in Singapore Polytechnic, we have learned the basic requirements of Information Technology to enable us to develop a mobile application. With the modules like Mobile Commerce, Web Application Development, Web Client Development and Java Programming.
We have also learnt project management and database management where we can manage the project during different phases and the database during the backend of the mobile application. Modules we learn that are related are Project Management and Database Management.

Description:
Call Police is an emergency responder mobile application that will help many Singaporeans. It has various functions that will help when in an emergency situation.
With Call Police, you would be able to activate a shrill alarm to scare of perpetrators, call the police directly from the app, get your exact location, notify your NOK and even take pictures or videos of the whole incident as essential evidence in a case.

Potential Opportunities:
Some of the potential things that we could implement and improve would be to make it more user friendly if using Call Police to help others in need. As currently when the user presses the “Call 999” button, the alert to the next-of-kin would be automatically sent out, even if the user is not in trouble. Thus, something that could be improved would be to create a radio button on the homepage where users can check if they are the one in need or they are lending a helping hand to others. With that, the user’s NOK will not receive the message that the user has called the police and panic for nothing.

Next would be the flag suspect function. If we are able to code the flag suspect function, it would be an advantage for Call Police as this is a very useful function for both the users and the officers. With the flag suspect function, users would be able to point out the direction of the suspect with ease and the police officers would be able to give chase immediately after receiving that information instead of getting to the complainant and spending valuable time getting to know the situation before moving off.

Another thing would be for the post investigation website. Something that can be improved would be to allow the police officers to check the previous cases that the complainant has reported. As currently, the officers can only view the most recent case but if they were to want to take a look at past cases, they would be unable to do so. Therefore, to improve on this issue, we could come up with another tab called “Past Cases” where the officers can view previous cases if there are.

For the post investigation website, something that could be added in would be a analysis function. With this function, the officers can generate analytics report to analyze the crime rate in Singapore. They would also be able know which areas have the highest crime rate based on the crimes recorded on the application.

Last but not least, a potential opportunity would be to expand Call Police to the global market. We feel that Call Police has the potential to strongly impact society and not just in Singapore but on a larger scale. With a few adjustments, we feel that Call Police does have the potential to take on the global market

Background:
With the high cost of owning a vehicle in Singapore, the only choice people have is to use the public transportation system such as buses and MRT in order to commute throughout their day. Large amount of human traffic can be seen during peak hours with people squeezing and pushing each other in order to get to work on time. With the recent amount of MRT breakdowns, it is making the situation worst by making people late for work and forcing them to use the free shuttle buses or take a cab to reach their destination. Taking the free shuttle buses means having to wait and suffer the push and squeezing of the already full buses and taking a cab will put a hole in your wallet.

Description:
Cabbers is an mobile application that allow a user to find other users that are going to the same destination as them and take a cab to the destination together, splitting the cab fare. A user can create a room with details of the trip he/she is taking, the meet up location, timing, date and users in the same room are able to communicate with each other in the room’s chatroom.

If a user would rather search for a room, they can do so in the map page. The map page gives an overview of all the rooms that are currently existing in the application. User will be able to search using the search bar, a specific location, destination or a room ID.

Users will be able to view the rooms that they have joined in the Meet Up page and view all the details or chat with other users.

The Notification page will show all the notifications the user has received

The Profile page will show the profile of a user. It will show the ratings a user have as well as the reviews for the user.

We implemented the rating and review system in order to prevent users from leaving the room at the last minute. If a user did indeed leave the room at the last minute, other users will be able to give that user a bad rating and review. This way, the next time that user join a room, the room leader will be able to make a decision of whether to kick him out of the room or not.

Potential Opportunities:
We could implement our application together with Uber or GrabTaxi whenever a user wants to book a cab.

Background:
Action X is a sports entertainment business that does highly interactive sporting events around the world. One of the popular events that the company organizes is Run for your life (RFYL), was originally a 5km run with zombie and obstacles. It has now evolved into a training academy, equipping users with survival skills. This event has a global appeal, as zombie-related themes are well received amongst participants. Furthermore, it is held in a form of a competition, enhancing its relativity to participants.As the company aims to promote fitness in a fun way, they want to utilize gamification in the application. As the existing application only serve its purpose during the event itself,it results in a lack of pre-event and post-event engagement which has a likely adverse effect on repeat participation.The main focus of this project is post-event engagement for the users. As Run For Your Lives events is organised around the world, the project also emphasizes on creating a community for the users to come together, and not only during the events. Which hopefully leads to better sponsorships and higher consumers’ satisfaction.The other focus is data collection through the gathering of participants’ information, for the purpose of amassing insights and improvements possible

Description:
The proposed application is named Breather X. It has 4 main functions. The functions are Story Involving the Zombies, Character Profiling, Leader Boards and Base Building of Users. Based on the existing application and the recommendations suggested, the group will create a new version with new features.It is linked to the Run For Your Lives events. Users will get notifications and updates upon the nearing dates of the respective events, in their countries. Aside from the running events, users are able to use this application for normal runs, through the selection of a particular mode.The leader board, user profiling and story based mission differentiates Breather X from the other existing applications in the market. Leader board shows the top record of users based on their achievements and runs. It is also a way to motivate users to run and improve their performance, while having fun doing the mission.Story based mission has an audio recorded, in which the users can listen to during the run. It includes some environmental audio and dialogue that makes it engaging and realistic. Users have an option to read or listen to the audio as the story unfolds.The group have also included character profiling as one of its features. This is where the users can create and customize their profile by uploading display picture, birthday and writing their backstory with creativity.

Potential Opportunities:
The potential opportunities for Breather X includes:

● Application become worldwide usage instead of just in Singapore. As Run for life event are more popular in overseas

● Successfully engage the users for post events or even pre event as well as there’s an event notification which can inform the user what are the upcoming events.

● Further improve version for the features such as leaderboard, profiling and base building

● Application is linked up with existing events (example after complete 10 mission level, will receive a 10% discount run for your life event fees)
