Working at Bandai Namco Studios Singapore was a very fruitful experience where I was able to be introduced to the work behind the creation of games. It has been an eye-opening experience, having worked with creative professionals from the industry. It was not easy when I first began working and I truly struggled in the beginning, however, I was keen to learn and adapt to the workflow as quickly as I could. I overcame my initial struggles by working even harder and have continued to make valuable contributions to the team.
During my time at Bandai Namco, I realised the importance of working with others. Teamwork and communication with others was key to creating great projects. This was especially true while I was working as a UI Artist on my second project. I was constantly interacting with different people from other departments like Programmers and Game Designers. Taking the initiative to clarify details and the direction we were heading in, I was very active with communicating with others.
Whenever I was given a new project to work on, I approached it with enthusiasm and curiosity. I was not afraid of asking any relevant questions as they helped answer the many concerns I had and resolved the concepts which I was unfamiliar with. I am very thankful for my supervisors who were patient with me and gave me an immense amount of advice. Their input has helped me grow as an artist and as an individual. I have become more sensitive to the world around me. This has helped me develop a better artistic sense and the ability to bring realism to my 3D models. Paying more attention to details like scratches and rust, I am able to reference and apply these to my works.
All in all, I have gained invaluable advices and experiences throughout my yearlong internship at Bandai Namco Studios Singapore.
